Last updated: September 10, 2026
This notice is provided by 3314396 NS Limited, based in Nova Scotia, Canada (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of Sleep Aid. Contact our privacy contact at support@calcounterai.com.
Scope and your choices
This Privacy Policy explains information handling for the app and its related services, including support for existing installations. A feature described below may not be available in every version. This notice does not itself replace permission required by law or your device. You can choose not to submit content or decline optional permissions; the feature that needs that information may then be unavailable.
Information used by this app
Catalog requests, audio playback requests, favourites and app settings are used to provide stories, sounds and relaxation content.
Processing and service providers
The app retrieves catalog data from Google Firebase Firestore and audio from Firebase Storage. These requests expose connection information to those services. The catalog/playback features described here do not send journal entries or personal prompts to an AI service. Google Firebase supplies catalog and audio hosting; Apple and RevenueCat handle purchases and access. Network requests also disclose connection information, such as an IP address, to the services receiving them. We use service providers for the functions described here and remain responsible for our obligations under applicable privacy law.
Purchases, support and technical information
Apple processes App Store payments. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Purchase services may process transaction identifiers, app-user identifiers and subscription status to provide access and restore purchases. If you contact us, we receive your message, email address and attachments. App and service operations may generate connection, error, device/app-version and usage records for troubleshooting, reliability, security and abuse prevention. Do not include unnecessary private information in support messages.
Why information is used and shared
Information is used to provide the features you request, manage access and purchases, respond to support and privacy requests, keep the service working, and investigate misuse. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where legally required or permitted to address fraud, security or legal claims. In a business transfer, relevant information may pass to a successor subject to applicable privacy requirements. A materially different use of personal information requires appropriate notice and, where required, fresh consent.
Storage, retention and deletion
Favourites and playback settings are saved locally. Downloaded or cached audio can remain until cache cleanup or app-data removal. Removing an item from the app does not necessarily erase separate device backups, exported copies, support records, or records held by processing providers. We retain information under our control for the time needed for the stated purpose, then delete or de-identify it, subject to legal, security and dispute-related retention needs. Provider retention varies by service and configuration; we do not promise immediate deletion of every copy. Contact us for deletion of information we control. If information exists only on your device, we may be unable to access or delete it remotely.
Sensitive content and safe use
This is a relaxation aid, not diagnosis or treatment of a sleep disorder. Do not listen in situations where reduced alertness would be unsafe. Submit information about another person only when you have a lawful basis and any required permission. Avoid unnecessary identifying or sensitive details. The information you submit can reveal personal or sensitive details about you or other people.
Security and international processing
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and its use. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. Information sent for processing can be handled in Canada, the United States or other countries where the relevant providers operate, and may be accessible to authorities under local law. We remain responsible for selecting and managing providers in accordance with our legal obligations; an overseas transfer does not waive your privacy rights.
Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion, withdraw consent, object to or restrict certain processing, or request portability. Email support@calcounterai.com with the app name and enough information to locate the relevant records. We may request proportionate verification; do not send identity documents unless we ask for them through an appropriate method. We respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any lawful refusal. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local privacy authority. Withdrawal does not undo processing already lawfully carried out.
Device controls and children
You can manage camera, photo, microphone and notification permissions in device settings where the app requests them. Manage subscriptions separately through Apple; deleting app data or uninstalling does not cancel a subscription. These services are not directed to children under 13. Where parental permission is legally required, it must be obtained before submitting a child’s information. If you believe a child’s information was submitted without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and take the steps required by law. An App Store content rating is not a statement about privacy consent.
Updates and contact
We will post revisions with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice or seek consent where required. The date records this notice’s revision; it does not retroactively authorize past processing.
