Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 02-01–2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AI Song Generator (“we,” “us,” or “the App”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our iOS application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Where applicable, we comply with Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. What the App Does (AI Content Notice)

The App lets you enter text prompts (e.g., lyrics, themes, styles) and generates music, songs, lyrics, and/or audio using artificial intelligence. AI output can be unpredictable, may be incomplete, and may resemble existing styles.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following categories:

2.1 Information You Provide
Account information (if you create an account): email address and other details you submit.
Support communications: messages you send to us (e.g., email support), including attachments you provide.

2.2 Content You Submit for Generation
Prompts and inputs: text prompts, lyrics, style selections, generation parameters, and other inputs you submit to generate output (“Inputs”).
Generated outputs: songs/lyrics/audio produced by the Service (“Outputs”).

2.3 Automatically Collected Information
Device and app data: device type, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and identifiers used for analytics/crash reporting (as available).
Log and usage data: feature usage, session duration, generation counts, and interactions (e.g., taps, screens viewed).
Diagnostics: crash logs and performance data to improve stability and fix bugs.
Network data: IP address may be processed for security, fraud prevention, and rate limiting.

2.4 Purchases and Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription through Apple (StoreKit), Apple processes your payment information. We may receive non-sensitive purchase metadata (e.g., subscription status, product ID, renewal state) to provide access and prevent fraud.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including generating Outputs from your Inputs)
Personalize and improve features, performance, and user experience
Provide customer support and respond to requests
Monitor, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, and prohibited behavior
Enforce our policies and legal rights
Comply with legal obligations

4. How AI Processing Works (Inputs/Outputs)

To generate Outputs, your Inputs are sent to AI processing providers (our “Processors”) and returned to you as Outputs. We may also store limited generation history or metadata (such as style selection, timestamps, and generation counts) to operate the Service, show your history (if enabled), prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

Important: We do not guarantee that Outputs are accurate, original, non-infringing, or suitable for any purpose.

5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only as described below:

5.1 Service Providers (Processors)

We use trusted third parties to operate the Service, such as:

AI processing providers (to generate Outputs)
Cloud hosting and storage providers
Analytics and crash reporting providers

These providers may process Inputs, Outputs, and limited device/usage data only to perform services for us under appropriate safeguards.

5.2 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to:

comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
enforce our agreements and policies
protect the rights, property, and safety of us, our users, or the public

5.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction (subject to standard protections).

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Service, maintaining records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and complying with legal obligations.

Where feasible, we retain Inputs/Outputs and usage logs for the shortest period necessary. You may request deletion as described below.

7. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

request access to personal information we hold about you
request correction of inaccurate information
request deletion of your personal information
opt out of non-essential communications

To exercise these rights, contact support@calcounterai.com. We may need to verify your request.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we collected such information, we will delete it.

10. Third-Party Links

The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies.

11. International Data Transfers

We may process and store information in Canada and other countries where our service providers operate. Laws in those locations may differ from your jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.
